We're hitting the road next week (or rather, the sky, as I'll be taking an airplane) to take PUPPET SKIN out across America! Well, at least *part* of America. Denver, LA, and Portland LISTEN UP because we got some performances scheduled inside of you:

A Flash Fiction/Interview! And Upcoming Appearances!

Hellllllllllo ladies! And also gentlemen. And also not-so-gentlemen.

Here's what's going on:

Had a piece of flash fiction and an interview that ran on Kevin Strange's blog as a part of his new series he's calling 'Flash Me Fiction'. Essentially, I wrote a piece of flash called JUNE, and then Kevin asked me a few questions based off of the story. In true form, I regard most of those question with completely asinine answers. Again, here's the links:

Next up, I've got two appearances scheduled.

The first is a reading at G-Mart Comics on August 1st in Chicago. It's part of the Bizarro Hour organized by Michael Allen Rose, and if you've ever seen any of their shows before, it promises to be a fun and funny time. We start at 8, so if you're in the area, COME ON BY!

And finally, you can catch me at the ScareLA convention in...well..Los Angels. That is August 8th and 9th. I'll be boozing and schmoozing and if you're there, come up say HI to me and make me feel like a big shot!

Both these "appearances" are a part of a 2 week cross country trip I will be on as I relocate from New Jersey to Portland, OR. Hopefully, my tires will stay inflated and the cops will regard my out-of-state plates with kindness.

That's all that's new in my world. Things will probably be picking up around here soon. There's a new novel that is quickly coming down the pike (should be available through Fungasm Press in October) and I have a few readings/performances slated for when I get to Portland, but I'm not sure of the dates yet.

I've been toying with the idea of actually staying up to date with this thing. Maybe doing a weekly update. As it is, I've just been using this blog as a 'link dump' to keep track of all my shit I've put out there in the world. What do you people think? Should I update this thing more? Does anyone even read this? Do you want to see my dick?

PART ONE - New Flash Fiction

Yes, I have new flash fiction up at Bizarro Central. This story is called THE VERSION OF 'PINOCCHIO' WHERE PINOCCHIO HAS A DICK FOR A NOSE. And although the story is about Pinocchio having a dick for a nose, it's also a meta-meditation on what it means to create the kinds of stories in which things like Pinocchio having a dick for a nose happens.

PART TWO - New Interview

Another monolithic youtube interview with the one and only Kevin Strange. This time, I'm sober! Actually, if you have some time to spare, it's pretty in depth. Kevin traces my entire career path, from wanting to write as a kid, until today, on the precipice of my THIRD BOOK being released. It's been an interesting journey, to be sure.

PART THREE - Texas Frightmare Weekend

Last weekend I got to hang out with my Rooster Republic Press family at Texas Frightmare Weekend. It was amazing time, full of drunken debauchery, horror movie icons, karaoke and literature. I love everyone I met. Read Arthur Graham's brief write-up on Goodreads and hear about a 10th of the insanity that actually transpired. Plus we managed to sell a few copies of DangerRAMA.

Hello out there in Internetland!

May I direct your attentinon to Ryan Werner's literary project Our Band Could Be Your Lit.

If you don't know, at OBCBYL, Werner has taken on the challenge of writing flash fiction based off of songs suggested to him by other artists. Since I sometimes like to take a shit on my computer keyboard and then send if off to magazines for publication, I am such an "artist", which is why I suggested to him a song, which he turned into a story, which is now on the computer for your reading pleasure.

Here is Magic In Reverse based off of the Dead Milkmen's "If You Love Someone, Set Them On Fire" as suggested by me. It's the beautiful story of young love, the magic of youth, and self-immolation. And other-people-immolation, as well. Lot's of immolation in that story there.
